AFL-CIO Scholarships -
RULES
The Texas AFL-CIO awards twenty-five $1,000 scholarships each year
to union member's children residing in the State of Texas who
are affiliated with a Central Labor Council, ours being The Tideland
Central Labor Council. You may go to the Texas AFL-CIO web site at
www.texasaflcio.org
and click on "Texas AFL-CIO Scholarship" on left
navigation bar to find out more detailed information regarding the qualifications
and time lines. You may also download the
application.
If you don't have daily access to the web or to a printer, you can pick up an application
from the hall or give us a call at 979-480-0003,
and we will mail one to you. |

Local
564 Scholarships
The local awards (2) $500 scholarships each year
to our members' dependent children that are graduating High School
Seniors. These scholarships are awarded on the highest test scores
obtained on a test covering the history of labor. You must be a
member in good standing in order for your dependent to participate.

scholarships to make education more affordable for
union members and their families including the
Union Plus Scholarship which has awarded more than
$2.4 million to working families.
